About the Saint
Feast Day: December 13
Patronage: The blind, martyrs, epidemics, salesmen, throat infections, writers

St. Lucy was a young Christian martyr during the Diocletian persecution, remembered for her bold refusal to renounce her faith or marry against her will. Tradition holds that her eyes were miraculously restored after suffering torture, making her a beloved intercessor for the blind and those suffering illness. Her name, meaning “light,” reflects her role as a spiritual beacon of Christ’s presence in darkness. Her faith and strength continue to inspire courage and purity in the face of trials.
