St. Dominic de Guzmán, founder of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), lived during a time when the Church desperately needed truth proclaimed with clarity and love. Moved by compassion and guided by divine wisdom, Dominic emphasized intellectual formation, prayer, and humble living as essential tools for evangelization. His response to the Albigensian heresy wasn't harsh debate, but a bold new vision of educated preaching and apostolic poverty.

Though not the originator of the Rosary, tradition closely links Dominic to its promotion under the Blessed Virgin's guidance. His deep devotion to contemplative study and authentic preaching formed a spiritual family that would raise up giants of the faith—including St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Catherine of Siena. His final words to his brothers still echo today:
"Have charity for one another, guard humility, make your treasure out of voluntary poverty."
