About the Saint Barbara Choe Yong-i
Feast Day: February 1 and September 20 (feast of Korean martyrs)
Patronage: Korean Martyrs
St. Barbara Choe Yong-i was born into a noble Korean family and became one of the earliest Catholic martyrs during the 19th-century persecution of Christians in Korea. Despite social pressure and brutal torture, she refused to renounce her faith. Her unshakable courage and deep devotion led to her execution in 1839. Barbara's heroic witness is a powerful reminder of the strength of the early Korean Christian community and the enduring hope found in Christ.
