Born during intense persecution, St. Andrew Kim Taegon was raised in a devout Catholic family and traveled over 1,200 miles to study for the priesthood. As Korea’s first native-born Catholic priest, he returned in secret to minister to the underground Church. Despite the constant threat of arrest, he brought the sacraments and hope to his fellow believers. Arrested and executed at the young age of 25, his final words, “It is for Him that I die,” echo the unshakable courage and love that define his legacy.
