The Divine Mercy image was given to St. Faustina Kowalska during a series of powerful visions in the 1930s. Jesus appeared to her with rays of red and pale light flowing from His heart, symbolizing the blood and water that poured out for the salvation of the world. He requested this image to be venerated with the words: “Jesus, I trust in You.” The devotion is a beautiful call to trust in God’s mercy and to extend that mercy to others.
